Making the decision to become Sisterlocked was one of the easiest I've ever made. After 2 1/2 years of having natural hair, I'd fallen into a styling rut and had become frustrated with my hair. However, I loved being natural and knew I never wanted to go back to any processed style. After seeing a beautifully Sisterlocked woman in Banana Republic, I knew this look was for me. I spent a few days researching the Sisterlock system and was inspired by Sisterlock creator Dr. Joanne Cornwell and all the beautiful and confident women who'd embraced the Sisterlock lifestyle. I was locked on August 31, 2006 and am so pleased with my results. I look forward to seeing my locks mature and am proud to have joined the ranks of the Sisterlock community! My Sisterlock experience was further enhanced by my certified consultant Gretchel "Gigi" Johnson. From my very first phone conversation with her, to my initial consultation and finally my locking, Ms. Gigi has been wonderful. Her uplifting spirit and ultra professionalism made my experience better than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend her services to anyone considering Sisterlocks!

where is the Essence festival
going to be?
Can you refer me to someone to get sisterlocks? I have been wanting them for 2 years now and my natural hair is now longer but at a point of no interest. I love the freedom and style of sisterlocks and I am ready to make the commitment.

Your locks are absolutely beautiful! I have been checking out your blog for a few months or so and just got up the nerve to leave a comment :-) My lock journey began Feb 8th this year so I am a newbie and I am loving the freedom. I do have one question for you. Is there anything that you would recommend that I can use to get my hair to shine more but wont cause slippage? I love my natural look but could use a little more shine.
Hi Shauna, Where you you live? Are you in Dallas? I recommend my ex consultant's son Jimmy Reid if you are. He is a trainee, and I recently had an opportunity to watch him work and he's very good.
If you are not in Dallas, then I recommend that you you go to the official Sisterlock website and look for a consultant there.
Lady Loc, thanks so much for checking out my blog. Ishould blog more often. Congrats on your new locks. They're lovely.To be honest with you, I never used anything for shine when my locks where your as young as yours, but if you have to, I would suggest a light essential oil like jojoba or simply a light oil sheen. Just a little bit is all you need.
